The Strap

Made from 100% recycled leather. The strap is reversable.

We ship with the shiny side on the outside. This mode allows you to adjust more easily.

Once you find your sweet spot, reverse it if you want. In that mode, the strap locks in and won't ever float on you.

The tension needed is less than tying your shoelaces. If, by chance, you break or lose your strap, the lower binding can double as a second mouthpiece strap.

Tuning

By moving the strap towards your mouth, you will achieve:

A slight raise in the pitch of the instrument.

A more breathy tone.

A stronger lower octave & a weaker upper.

By moving it away, you will achieve:

A lowering of the pitch of the instrument.

A sharper tone.

A stronger upper octave, weaker lower.

Maintenance

To prevent cracking or splitting, try to follow these basic guidelines:

1. Do not leave it in your car on a cold winter night, or a hot summers day.

2. Don't let it get rained on, or store it in a damp basement. After playing, wipe down any condensation from your breath.

3. Keep it in a safe place, away from dogs, babies & wrestling matches.

Remember: 'A flute on the floor is a flute no more.'

We use a leather strap for the bird/fetish/totem. We find it the easiest of all types to deal with. And it sounds great. 

The leather is supple and can stretch and be moved around very easily.
